In the heart of the mesmerizing cityscape of Dubai and The Palm Jumeirah, amidst the grandeur of architectural wonders and glimmering lights, stands a beacon of adventure and tranquility – The Dubai Balloon. A soaring testament to human ingenuity and a symbol of boundless exploration. The Dubai Balloon At Atlantis can be found at the world’s most iconic entertainment destination, Atlantis The Palm, and the record-breaking Aquaventure Waterpark.
Our scope commenced at initial concept design, both architectural and structural, taking the project through its full life-cycle to completion. The project was particularly challenging from a design management perspective to obtain all the necessary authority approvals, obtaining civil aviation certificate of airworthiness for the Balloon and an air operator certificate (AOC).
The project was built on a white sandy beach adjacent to the famous Palm Monorail, with half of the structure on land and the other half in the Arabian Gulf sea. It also included the build and fit-out of a two-story retail unit overlooking the Balloon for guests to enjoy the spectacular views whilst sipping on their in-house barista style coffee.
